Meta Platforms Introduces Ephemeral ’Ghost Posts’ on Threads Amid Stock Surge
Meta Platforms (META) has rolled out a transient content feature called 'ghost posts' on its Threads platform, allowing users to share ephemeral updates that vanish after 24 hours. The MOVE mimics the disposable content trend popularized by Snapchat and Instagram Stories, positioning Threads as a more dynamic competitor to X (formerly Twitter).
The feature arrives alongside other upgrades including expanded text attachments and spoiler controls. Meta's stock climbed 2% on the announcement, extending its 25% year-to-date rally as investors reward the company's aggressive product iteration.
While the update contains no direct cryptocurrency implications, Meta's continued innovation in social media infrastructure could eventually intersect with its blockchain ambitions. The company maintains active Web3 research initiatives despite scaling back its Diem stablecoin project in 2022.
